Stormy Weather
Sometimes the clear, blue skies of an, otherwise, idyllic life become shrouded by a blanket of rolling, swirling, dreary clouds that blow in from over the irrepressible sea of providence. All at once, the serenity of an ordinary life is blown apart by gale force winds that seem determined to rearrange everything familiar, everything sacred. There’s little that can be done, only temporary shelter, as we hunker down, evacuating to shield what’s truly irreplaceable from the brunt of the inevitable deluge, the tidal surge destined to rearrange the landscape of our lives. It’s interesting, though, how resilient we human beings are, emerging from the eye of the storm, with a tenacity that enables us to withstand the next band of squalls to come, how we’re able to weather the one, two, three, and, yes, even four blow punches the hurricanes of life can deliver. Eventually, the clouds begin to part, the seas become calm, and the clear blue skies return along with a renewed appreciation for the, otherwise, idyllic life that only stormy weather can cast in a brand new light.
